I've tried searching about with less than satisfactory results. is there a good source for pre 1950 marker buoys? for construction, not to navigate! or were there no standards and I can let my creativity loose? thanks

It's pretty arcane knowledge, but it might be covered in Merchant Marine exams or study guides from the period?
