There are several build logs on this forum ,not sure what are site you are talking about ,but this forum is the most reliable to ask about these kits, you also can message the manufacturer and ask questions directly. This kit interests me. What is the quality like? I saw on one site where is said the fit of the parts was poor and another that says it is good kit. Advice would be appreciated
Hi. It's Albert here. The kit is nice and very affordable. The wood is of the best quality and the customer service outstanding with whatever issue you should run into. Keel, deadwood, frames, stempost and, generally speaking, the so called axial carpentry in quite amazing for how well is cut. The down face, in my humble opinion, is the challenging effort required to the modeller. This Hoy is not devoted to newbees and some tricky or damending steps ask the modeller for some akward adjustments and a bit of archness to get through them. Some friends, here on SOS, complained about the 3-d instructions, not always clear and coherent, and it's pretty obvious that some parts, expecially in the late part of the buiding, where little errors and flaws occurred during the entire process turn into some fatal and relevant discrepacies, require to be recut from scratch to get a decent outcome. My advice, if you are at least an everage skilled modeller, is to buy Antscherl's monograph (altouhgh the kit, differing significantly, is not officially related to it), study it well and purchase some planks of the same wood you choiced for the kit, 1 to 5 mm thick, to recut or cut from scratch any insatisfactory or ruined (by the modeller himself) parts. Hope it helps. Cheers! This kit interests me. What is the quality like? I saw on one site where is said the fit of the parts was poor and another that says it is good kit. Advice would be appreciated
