Thank you for allowing me to join your group! I wish I would have found you earlier : ). This is my first build, The Endurance from Occre. Being from the midwest I have no knowledge of ships but have a great admiration for them. I'm researching as much as I can to be as accurate as I can but have not found what the Endurance propeller is made of. I've replaced the tripple blade that came with the kit with a RC two blade prop but can anyone tell me what it was made of for deco purposes?

Welcome to the forums !
Massachusetts Maritime Academy

Historically, older propellers would either be made of Manganese Bronze (58% copper, 39% zinc, and around 1% manganese, iron and aluminium) or Admiralty bronze (72% copper, 1% tin and 27% zinc alongside traces of iron, lead and arsenic).May 16, 2023
Thank you so much for the info! I've seen black deco on other models so I wasn't sure... I'll keep the deco as is then. Thanks!

also from my side a warm welcome here on board of our forum.
BTW: especially for your first ship model -> very good work

Thank you All for the warm welcome! Openning the box was a bit intimidating but exciting too. I'm a graphic artist and traditional artist/oil, acrylic, airbrush painting as well and wanted to paint the Endurance. Once complete I will photograph the model and use the photo subject to commemorate Shackleton and his crew's incredible journey with a painting. The ship parallels my career having old world propulsion of sails and steam as I started as a graphic artist using blades, markers and t-squares to learning design on computers : ) This is also the 1st forum I'ver ever been a part of so thank you again!
