Hi. My name is Ray and I live in Laguna Vista, TX. After retirement, I reacquainted myself with model building, mostly plastic models, and then discovered wooden ship models. My first one was an 18th century longboat from Model Shipways. It was a good learning experience. Since then I’ve obtained two models from an online auction, the Cutty Sark and the Sovereign of the Seas, both by Sergal. They are quite old. The date on the full size drawings for the CS is 1976 and the parts are not laser cut but partially routed from hardwood plywood. The SOTS is dated 1974 but at least the parts are laser cut.
I’ve started the CS after watching numerous YouTube videos and scouring the internet. This website seems to have a lot of useful information so I will be seeking out the wisdom of its members as I proceed. Thank you in advance!
