I have been here for quite some time as a silent participant, but I’m going to try to be more active and to show my projects.
I have been retired for a while now, and to my surprise I have even less time than before

Bluenose - Venetian Gondola (Amati) Palamós- HMS Revenge (Occre)
Galjoen Eendracht- HMS Victory - Victory section - (DeAgostini)

Mare Nostrum - Costa Dorada - Mississippi - Santa Maria( Artesania Latina)

Bandirma - Paşabahçe Passenger Ferry (Turkmodel )
Lady Nelson (Victory models) Korean Turtleship (YoungModeler)

2026 start with → HMS BOUNTY (Artesania Latina)
I'm definitely not a top-level builder — I don’t take things too seriously when it comes to reproducing every tiny detail. I probably don’t have quite enough patience for that… which means things do go wrong from time to time Still, I really enjoy this hobby, and from what I see here, many of you do as well!

I’ll be starting a build log of the HMS Bounty here soon (the first photos are already taken).

Looking forward to your comments and suggestions during the build!

Grts, Patrick

Welcome aboard from Nova Scotia, home of the Bluenose.
My first model was the Bounty, and over the years .I have read
many books concerning Capt.Bligh and the mutiny.
Just recently I came across a most authoritive book,The
Life of Vice Admiral William Bligh,R.N, F.R.S by George Mackranes
it gives an account of Blighs personal log and
the Ships Log also some reference to desertions from James
Morrison s Journal. This book is a must read for all who want
to know about the true story of Bigh and the Mutiny and Blighs
life.
Enjoy your build of the Bounty, one thing to remember the
sail on the Mizzen is loose fitted .Many modelers have a boom
on the mizzen which should never should be it it is loose fitted.

Cheers Winova

Patrick , regarding loose fitting sail on the Bounty , means the
mizzen sail is not attached to a boom.
Many mizzen masts have booms and when they do the sail
when attached to them is not considered loose fitted.
Hope this clears up any misunderstanding regarding loose
fitting.

If I’m not mistaken, the mizzen sail should be positioned like this, right? This is new to me!
Thank you for the tip, I will definitely try doing it this way!

Patrick , the Bounty mizzen sail is a loose fitting sail attached to the
mizzen mast and to a gaff, loose fitted at the bottom as their is
no boom on the mizzen mast.
The Bounty miizzen sail you show ,is not a sail made to be attached
to a gaff, the gaff is missing on your mizzen mast .The Bounty had a
gaff rigged sail , loose fitted , on the mizzen as mentioned. Try again
with your drawing.
Best regards, Winova

No Patrick. The picture shown has a mizzen main sail attached
to the mast , a gaff at the top and a boom at the bottom.
The Bounty had a mizzen main sail attached at the mast ,a gaff
at the top, and loose fitted at the bottom ( no boom attached
to the mast , thus the saying loose fitted so .
Perhaps instead of saying mizzen main sail I should be calling
the sail we are concerned with the mizzen spanker sail as it
is the sail aft of he mizzen attached to the mast and a gaff.
In the picture you show , the sail we are talking about is the
one protruding (or sticking out ) over the Stern of the ship.
So all may be my fault not calling it the Spanker. Sorry,
We will get it right eventually,
Winova

This is the sail we are talking about . The Bounty when rigged does
not have a boom on their mizzen mast. Thus the sail is loose
fitted at the bottom . The boom is the bottom pole you see on your picture
which the Bounty does not have. The gaff is the top pole.
I believe we will now get everything right. Thanks for your patience.
