I haven't built a model since the mid 1950's, and that was a plastic plane. I retired at 70 from an office job and started trying to find a hobby. I live in the country on an acreage so I'm always doing something, but I decided to scratch build battleship cribbage boards. I created about a dozen different boards over the next two years, (battleships, Liberty ship, sailboats, monitors, Scuffy the Tugboat, and riverboats),- but burned out after I was ghosted on a commissioned riverboat. That was 3 years ago and my daughter insisted I tell her what I wanted for Father's Day. I've been bemoaning the fact that I've lost interest in 'toys', and I said get me a wooden boat model. I now have an Albatros and I'm a babe in the woods, but I'm watching videos and lucky to have the tools I need. I know I have the skill but not the knowledge, so I'll be checking in from time to time. I'm marking parts and trying to identify which planks are which at this point. It's good to have a new adventure!
