I’m a preacher in rural north Georgia, I acquired a Virginia Swift Pilot 1805. Either I’m dumb as a stump or the instructions leave a lot to be desired. I found some great posts from this forum and decided to join.
 
Welcome Aboard! I have learned a great deal since I joined in March about a month after I started my first build. Lots of great help and encouragement on this forum.

My first project was the Swift also..
You'll learn to live with disappointment...
Its a first step to better models.....
But build it you must.
Instructions are lacking but much help is available on this site, don't give up.

I don’t know the meaning of give up. It might not be correct, but I will finish it. I’m a complete newby. So I’m not looking for a masterpiece. Just something I will be proud to display.
