Hello. I've not made model since helping my son build a plastic kit about 25 years ago. I took a fancy to try and build a wooden boat. So I bought a cheap kit, a Halcon 1:100. I'm a bit disappointed but you get what you pay for. I've come here for advice, help and inspiration. Hopefully, if I decide to carry on I'll be steered in the right direction for my next kit.
All the best

Hallo @Big D
first of all a warm welcome here on board of our forum.
A very good help can be to srat a building log - here you can show your work and progress, you can ask questions and more expereineced modelers are able to give hints and give answers if necessary and requested.

If the work on the Halcon is too painful and is maybe not producing real fun, due to the fact, that it is realy a very cheap kit, -> stop it and buy something else
The quality of material etc. is as I know not really the best (friendly speaken)

Welcome Big D.

I am sure you will find all the help you require on this site.
The members are extremely passionate and helpful. Especially to us newbies. :)

Should you find your current build uninspiring, do as Uwek suggested, find something of better quality.
If I may be so bold, may I suggest you look at some of the Master Korabel kits.
Exceptional quality and with English instructions.
They can be obtained at this site, where I ordered some of mine.
