Hello Everyone,
My name is Zonk ...
I've been building models since I was a wee little one... around 8-9 years old.
I often visited my hometown Hobby Shop.. called Covina Hobby, in Covina Calif.
Sadly this hobby shop recently closed down after 50 + years in business.
I build plastic WWII planes and armored vehicles. I also build wooden boats.
My current build on my desk is the Model Airways 1903 Wright Flyer. It is for my grand daughter for her 10th b-day. Since she lives near Dayton OH, and they cover the Wright Brothers in their school I thought she might find the model interesting.
It's the first wood model I have built in many decades.
I've been out of the model building mode for a few decades, and now that I am retired I am getting back into it.
Although I am slowing getting my skills back before I tackle my favorite thing to build masted sailing ships in wood.
I am located in Northern California.

Well that's it for now..
Happy model building....
Zonk

also from my side a warm welcome here on board of our forum
Maybe you want to start a building log and showing your progress and work on the project?

Welcome from me as well. Can you post pictures of your Wright Flyer? I know it isn't a ship, but it would help us to get to know you and your work. Ships/boats to come later perhaps. :D Thumbs-Up

Welcome, loved the Air Force museum at Wright Patterson AFB.
