Hello, I'm Jerry from Wauwatosa, WI. I have been building model ships (plastic, wood, kits and scratch) off and on for several years. Many years ago, I entered one of my kit ships, the Swift 1805 Virginia Pilot Boat in the Midwest Model Ships and Boats Contest in Manitowoc WI. Currently have six models still in boxes and four in various stages of completion. Currently working on a 3/8" scale scratch build of the Willie L Bennett 1899 Chesapeake Bay Skipjack. Challenge is to use no more than two pieces of maple board measuring 3/8" x 1.5" x 72". I am using information from the book "The Skipjack" by Steve Rogers and Patricia Staby-Rogers plus the instruction manual from Model Shipways kit of the Willie L. Bennett skipjack. Will be looking at the Build Logs on this model in this forum.
