Help! Can anyone help identify this artist as my mum left it when she died. Bought in Hull in the 80’s

My mum and dad have now passed and my mum left this from her belongings. My dad was a fisherman in Hull and bought it in the 80s. It’s very large picture in an ornate frame.

Can anyone help identify the artist please and even suggest where to sell it as it’s not something I would like to keep.

Thanks

Is the artist's name on the painting or on the back of the canvas? You might be better off taking it to a reputable art dealer for some help.

A long shot, but Ferens Art Gallery (Hull) may be able to help if the artist was Hull based. Failing that, Hull Maritime Museum.

I looked it up on Google Images but could not find a match, except for the posting here on SoS.
A better photo would help.
For those that don't know, you can search an image, like a painting and Google will find it. It has worked very well for me.
Go to Google search and just on the right hand side of the text input you will see 2 colorful icons, one for voice and one for image.

This looks like a 'hobby artists' seascape. (I'm one of them!!) I think it unlikely you'll be able to find the painter unless they were prodigious producers. Some had small shops, if so there might be somebody local who remembers....if you know the town of origin was indeed Hull? The most likely source of information will be on one of the town's Facebook forums, or town history forum. Maybe a 'Hull artists'page since there's a serious history of marine art in Hull (eg. Thomas Somerscales) It will reach a wider and more appropriate audience. Incidentally the frame is a mass marketed art shop product, I have the same waiting to be filled. So no help there unless the shop has stamped it's identity on the back.
The Feren gallery are helpful folks so it's worth giving them a try.
