HELP ME model this boat

Greetings to everyone,
my friend recently bought a life boat, which he plans to modify for other purposes. As I'm an architect and have some skills in cad software, he asked me to help him design the canopy for this boat. As i'm not used to 3d modeling curves, can someone please help me model the hull of the ship (just the lower part). Or draw me the guide lines in 2d, so i can lift that in 3d. its really hard for me from this jpg. which i'll upload.

I'm a mechanical design engineer. Sadly, though, I don't have the software at home to do this. An engineering student with 3DS max might be able to help out. It looks like a hard job because there are not enough measurements. Somebody who is used to modelling 3D for computer gaming might be able to do it.
