Decided to give wooden ship building a try, completed sherbourne from vanguard models. made loads of mistakes but loved it,
looks ok from a fair distance away . Going to try the grecian from vanguard next. Expect i will yell for help quite often instead of just bumbling through.

Welcome to the forum, and good luck with the Grecian.
Vangard's kits look pretty good from what I've seen (kits are above my pay-grade) and as long as you're not trying to bash it into a tuna trawler, you should be fine
Running a build-log on a forum can be a big help, when you hit a bump, you can ask and get help right away, maybe even from a Vanguard rep. The trick is to ask before you've cut or glued
