I’m Nick from Birmingham AL. I’m originally from Biloxi, MS and have countless ties to the maritime industry there, My great great grandfather, Nikola Skrmetta, was credited for bringing the Croatians to the point in the late 1800’s and that tradition of fishing and boat building carried on through my grandfather, Nick Misko, and a bit with my father, Greg Holloman.

I am fascinated with the bygone days of the maritime industry, especially in Biloxi. I look forward to cruising the forums and sharing some of the models my grandfather built later in life. I’ve attached my grandfather with a model of a schooner he built called the Flying Cloud. After completing the actual 60’ schooner, he built this model to give to the owners.
