Wow, that is impressive. Thanks very much for the ideas you have used. I was stuck on the gears, and you supplied the answer. I guess you can buy those at any toy shop individually?I got some ideas from YouTube but mostly my own creation. Bearings from eBay, motor from local electronics store. Motor speed control came from my Dominoff Serving Machine.

Welcome to the forum! 40+ years of modeling and already on your 15th wooden build — that’s seriously impressive.New to the forum but have been modelling for over 40 years. On my 15th wooden build at the moment. Hope to get a few tips as you are never too old to learn something
That homemade powered Ropewalker has me interested, Hornet. I was thinking of using my old lathe with a jig made up to make the rope for the ship, when it comes to making the rope. I have a Toy shop close by, so I guess cogs won't be an option to obtain.Hi Gary, Aa lot of my models have upgrades that are scratch built. Some parts I have bought from Modellers Central and Frontline Hobbies. I also make some of my own rope with a home made powered ropewalk.
