Hi, new to model building.

Hi, my name is Harry HIGman (HHIG). I live in Northern Virginia, Reston Virginia to be more exact. I am very new to any type of model building, since I recently retired, I thought to myself, now what the heck am I going to do? Bingo! Model ship building might be the ticket. I didn't know what I got myself into. I have done several beginner kits, I call them 10 footers. I'm sure you know why. The models kinda look like boats.

I'm sorry for not introducing myself sooner, a little hesitant. The SOS Forum is fantastic and I'm still learning how to navigate it.

When I figure out how to do the picture posting, I will do so.

Awesome! Welcome! Advice that I share was given to me when I first started by a professional model ship builder. One part at a time! No matter how big or how small the kit, it is always one part at a time. Don’t hesitate to ask questions….no matter how goofy they seem…we have ALL been there! And best of all…take your time, be patient, and enjoy your hobby! Again, a warm welcome to a fellow Virginian!
 
Welcome aboard! While you are at it, please check out the Washington Ship Model Society. I am a member there. We meet alternate months in Arlington and Bethesda and have many members near you. You will be most welcome to this club as well. We have a very congenial and enthusiastic membership, love to share and do many shows as a club in the region.
