(Updated) I’ve been building model kits for 35 years and now have a collection of primarily unstarted, very high end models from Lauck St. and The Lumberyard that I’ve decided to sell. Having been retired for 15 years there is just no way that I will get around to building these!

You will also see below a list of plans largely from models I have built or planned to build. Many are used, but some are new. Except as noted, they are free however you pay for the shipping!

Ship Models

Lauck Street

HMS Kingfisher (started).

Three years ago I had a shelf collapse at about 8’ above a concrete floor. My in-progress Kingfisher fell. I had completed all the ribs, however about a dozen were damaged in the fall. The keel assembly also snapped and the building jig disassembled itself. Other than that, I believe that kit is complete and in good condition.

Build quality is good, but not up to the standard of some of the scratch builders on this forum! Looking for best offers to take over this build. I Paid $1,750 directly from Bob, however he resold it to me from the original purchaser about 15 years ago.

If you are interested in finding out more, please send me a message.

The Lumber Yard

I have unstarted timbering sets for two Lumberyard Models based on Harold Hahn’s plans. They all include a laser cut building jig and other laser cut pieces. The wood billets and strips are of the highest quality.

Confederacy 3/16 scale (Boxwood - which is shown as available in Lumber Yard’s catalog, however the current price is not shown. Best offer over $400 plus shipping. This is a really large model and the timbering kit weighs 28 lbs.

Rattlesnake 3/16 scale (Swiss Pear). I also purchased a set of plans from Harold Hahn’s estate. These are in 1/4 scale so will need to be reduced. This is an excellent sized model, by my estimate coming out at just under 28” long. This scale is not available in Lumber Yard’s catalog). Best offer over $300 plus shipping.

Ship Model Plans

BLUENOSE: Bluejacket, one sheet (1A) Scale 3/16

FAIR AMERICA: Lauck St. 16 sheets 1/4 scale. $75. I will include the Hahn style building jig (used) and what I believe are Hahn’s plans (3 pages).

SMUGGLER: BlueJacket, 2 sheets, 1/4 scale

USS ALBERMARLE: Bluejacket, 1 sheet, 1/4 scale.

BOMB VESSEL CONVULSION: Jotika, 6 sheets.

More plans to come later!

Hello Peter,
it would be reassuring to members if you could post some photos of the kits you are selling. Many thanks and good luck with the sale.

Also included are Volumes 1 and 2 of David Antscherl’s books on building HM Swan Class models which are invaluable in completing this beautiful ship. These are out of print and cost well over $100 for each volume if you can find them.

Would you take $200 plus shipping for the Atlantic kit? I live in Belfast ME, so depending upon where you are, i could pick it up.

$200 plus shipping would be fine, but I will take out the file set as I’ve just realized I need it. If this is OK, I will package the model and get an estimate of the shipping. I’m in Northern California, so pick-up would be problematic!

Are you able to settle up using either PayPal (preferred) or Venmo?

I included a photo of my completed model of the Atlantic, and it was one of the most enjoyable models I’ve built. The scale is great, lots of challenges, a little bit of modification, and a beautiful model as an end result.

I can Venmo you it’s no problem that you keep the file set. I have plenty of tools. I live right down the road from blue jacket and Searsport Maine, and have admired this model in their showroom. I really appreciate the offer and will add the ship to my building schedule going forward. My email is KingKahn1950@gmail.com please send me yours so I can send you my address. Thanks so much, Rob.
