Dear Exhibitor,

It is again time to inform you about the 11th edition of the Expo
Historical Ship Modeling. Due to the success we have been invited for the third
time in a row invited by the Maritime Museum in Amsterdam and this
on Saturday, September 27.

You have in the past once or more participated as an exhibitor
to this fantastic event and, in case you have not yet
registered, we cordially invite you to participate again.
participate again.

The “rules of the game” are identical to the two previous editions. That
means that the models must be derived from ships before 1945
and made with building materials such as preferably wood, paper/cardboard or
metal. Plastic is allowed but no ready-made kits. Of course
steam-powered models are welcome and may be demonstrated, but
only on compressed air as open flames are prohibited in the hall. Opportunity
to be outside on the scaffolding is not recommended because of the limited
possibilities and risks.

This expo has several objectives:
  • To show our products to the visitors of the Scheepvaartmuseum making it is also interesting for the Scheepvaartmuseum because of the extra attracted visitors.
  • To introduce modelers to each other and show each other's work.
  • To transfer knowledge and skills (tips & tricks) to each other.
These goals can best be achieved if as many
modelers also bring their model they are currently working on. For this is
the model that they may have the most problems with and that
others may have an answer to. Moreover, such a model in
under construction gives visitors the most insight into how such a model is built
and what is involved.

Often you hear from modelers who have just started their first
model: “That's nothing for me. Who wants to see this?” Just these people
I want to encourage them to sign up. Meeting other
modelers and hearing their stories makes it clear that
everyone once started with little, and that therefore there is much beauty
to come. This gives you extra motivation to continue and
try to reach an even higher level of perfection. There are also
opportunities to give or attend lectures about our wonderful
hobby.

This year the event is again sponsored by the Dutch
Association for Model Builders. Members of the NVM receive discounts on the
purchase from traders present. Also NVM
members get a partial refund of the parking fee if use is made of the IJ-oever
is made of the IJ-oever parking garage.

So mark this date in your calendar and register via this link, if you have not already done so:

Kind regards,

Ron van Leeuwen / Jan Zwart
