Thought I'd order the Peter Goodwin book of the "Alert". Must be a heavy demand for this build because copies go for ridiculous prices. Any chance of bulk buy from the publisher?

Do you mean the book of Peter Goodwin, or the expected kit ?
Here we list only for the kit.
For the book, the last edition, as I know was published in 2004, and it is not available any more from the publisher Conway Maritime Press any more.

I'm not sure how much counts as ridiculous for you, but ABE books has a few for about US$70-- much cheaper than the hundreds of dollars I'm seeing elsewhere.
