HMS Alert

That is incredible. Thanks for posting this!! Do you have a link? The smallest I could find is 0.003" at McMaster Carr for Nichrome wire so would love to find another source with smaller sizes.

I cannot vouch for them, I only found it while searching, but BestSuppliers seems to have it.

Isn’t that a rather big bow wave for a rather small boat? I suggest a google search for images under “sailing ship wake” before you go any further. (There are many images, but most of them are licensed.)

This is a bigger vessel than Alert.
Tamaya acrylic snow (kind of a sparkly easily modeled paste produced for dioramas.) makes terrific wake foam and sticks to most anything. ;)Thumbsup

I attempt at making the shrouds and ratlines using thread was a failure.

Tough to do. You can use fine wire and/or very fine thread. Both are available as supplies for making flyfishing lures.
I have a miniature Baltimore Clipper model about the same size on the images of Completed models forum here on SOS. using these materials for the shrouds and ratlines. The ratlines are just little snips of line glued in place and trimmed to size.

Sorry for the lack of update in a while. I am waiting for more materials to arrive before continuing.
