HMS Beagle - Steve's Occre Kit

After 50 years of flying RC scale planes, my distance vision has diminished to the point i am hesitant to fly these days. I recently purchased an OcCre HMS Beagle kit. This is a first ship build. Any thoughts, suggestions, comments are certainly welcome. It will be 2-3 weeks before i can actually start. For now, i am reading the paper work and reviewing the kit.

Hello! Read the directions twice. Let the glued parts dry completely and always test fitting. Sand gently. If you screw up, so what! Wood parts are repairable. ENJOY. LOTS OF BUILD LOGS HERE. THEY ARE A GREAT RESOURCE. They will often n take the confusion out of the instructions. Most important is have fun, keep the dogs, cats and kids away!
 
Thanks Don. As time allows, i have been reading the instructions and looking through all of the documents that came with the kit. Definitely will be reviewing the build logs on here as i go, there is not much better than experience.
 
Hi Steve, I'm slowly working my way through the Beagle. I think its a really nice kit straight from the box, and there are many opportunities for kit bashing too. I have made a lot of use of past build logs too. I've gone a long way down the rabbit hole of striving for greater authenticity, but sometimes feel I should have done a straight build... and I would have a lovely model to display already! Enjoy, whichever way you go.
 
Good information embojo, i really appreciate your input. This being a first ship build for me i will most likely try to avoid that rabbit hole... :)
