Hi - I'm new here but have built a number of POF ships. Eyesight isn't what it used to be and rigging is no longer enjoyable. I have a 90% complete HMS Bounty. Free if you can pick it up in Venice FL.
Bounty.IMG_0857.jpegounty with all instructions, etc. Free to whoever can pick it up in Venice FL.

Man, that's terrible, it looks like you've done an amazing job on her, I hope someone down there can pick it up and do the rigging justice. How long have you been working on her?

Thanks for your rely and kind words Rob. Probably active work was 18 months or so - many years ago. It's been sitting in a workshop here in Florida for many, many years untouched. Just needs a good home and care.

There are ship model clubs on the west coast of Florida that may be interested if you are near Naples or Tampa.

I know there is a club down in Naples/Venice area that is mixed media (IPMS club with plastics as well as some wood builders). There is also one in Tampa. I'm a member of the Tampa club and I'll ask at our next meeting which is on the 4th Tuesday of the month.

It's truly a shame that your introduction to us is to get out of the hobby. :(

I've sent an email to our Tampa club newsletter editor asking if this is something that is appropriate for it. I'll let you know how that goes. :)

Thanks Jeff - much appreciated. It's been a long time since I've worked on it. My best was a "Chesapeake Bay Dragger" (POF from the plans). It's up in Annapolis MD with my niece in her beautiful home on the Severn River. Also FYI if you haven't been to the US Naval Academy museum in Annapolis it has a wonderful collection of old model ships.

Hi Tomp, sad to hear about your eyes and having to give up this hobby.
I am about to embark on the build of the Bounty, also. My build is based on POF, and I am starting to build it now. All my plans and materials came from Lumberyard for Model Shipwrights.
Best of health going forward.
Gary

Hi I have the same problem and I bought the HEad lens magnifier to pass the thread from the blocks.

I also have the HMS Bounty from Delprado. I hope to continue work on her next year.
