This is the HMS Bounty by Occre. I began this at the end of April 2023.
There has been progress, though it's slowed since the sun began to shine a little more!
I decided to not only take on the challenge of the build, but also adding lighting.
Here are a few images so far.
Looks like good progress with the finish of the first layer of planking. You may find the following helpful regarding putting on the second layer of planking on the hull. A key point is that every strake lands in the rabbet. There is also the benefit that if you prebend there is no need for nails or clamps.
Picture below may be helpful and the four-part video on planking is a big help
Here are a few up to date shots of the Bounty.
Progress has slowed with a new addition to our home...an eight week old Basset hound.
So in between training and play I sit down when I can.
A bit further along. Two weeks to come up with the construction of the bow. Not completely accurate, but I'm happy.
The instructions are to say the least...lacking.
Even a quality image is not included.
Hi Mitch,
It is a shame about the instructions lacking. For the future, head timbers, (the two vertical pieces,) go under the main rail as you show, but outside the two eking rails and on top of the upper cheek.
