Those ribs are stunning. Beautiful smooth lines. Fantastic work.
Hello Grant,
beautiful work and really well executed. It's fun to watch you. Dreamlike!

Best regards
Günther Ship-1
Looking awesome!
It's coming along really beautifully.
Very well done, Grant!
Good morning gentlemen. Thank you for your compliments and encouragement. It is always motivating.
A good option, Grant. And it’s fun, playing with the light and shadows on and between the frames.
Regards, Perer
True story Peter. I do need that option open as I am still working out how I am going to build her. I will deviate from the kit a lot that I do know :D . My extent of photography is sticking my iphone under and taking plenty pics from different angles ......switching lights on then off then finding one or two nice ones to post-ROTFROTF. Cheers Grant

Good morning Grant. Catch up time for me on your superlative build. I was going to flood your posts with “like/love it” icons, much like I did with Paul’s build a while back during a “catch up” period. So many he was glad I went for lunch ROTF. So instead I’ll just say your work continues to be truly exceptional.

Good afternoon Roger. Thank you for looking in on my Enterprise and for the compliment. Yep one like does it for meROTF. How is your Syren going? Are you still rigging all those carronades? Cheers Grant

I've had to limit time at the workbench these last weeks to sort out some health issues. Things are picking up so I’ll be back at the Syren soon. The carronades are mostly completed so placing the deck fittings is next. Thanks for checking in.

Good afternoon
I decided to include the mast steps in case I want to have “stub” masts on this build. These will hardly be visible so I’m sticking with the kit and not including any upgrades or modifications.

The little block of wood is used to measure accurately. To get a ruler in there was a mission.
With a bit of poly;

Thanks Neil. I had a little fun with the cell phone and the angles....came out pretty cool.

@RDN1954 - Hello Johan. For some reason I can’t reply to your message. It wasnt that difficult. I cut some measuring blocks and used prestick to mark the placement of the mast steps. I then connected them to the mast and glued them in place through the deck beams etc. using the mast as a guide. Yep you are correct tho, it would have been a simple task if I just did these earlier. ROTF.Cheers Grant

Good morning Gentlemen
While I wait for the new parts I am going to deviate to deck beams and carlings etc.

Firstly I need to poly the internal frames below the clamp line. I was very happy, indeed, how the Cherry came out. It looks way better in real life and try as I may I couldn’t share this with you guys:

Been there, done that! Your work is truly amazing. Very well done mate

Grant,
Wow ! Your build is coming along beautifully, and so quickly. Congratulations. I messed up to exact location of the masts in my CAF build, so I really appreciate how exact everything is on yours. The Admiralty will be pleased with you, and your shipyard.
How are you taking those pictures of the inside ? It seems like a fiberoptic scope like we use (used-I'm a retired, neuro-anesthesiologist and critical care guy) in medicine to do bronchoscopy and GI work-ups.

Cheers.

It's good you opted for mast stomps instead of full length masts. It took me quite a bit of fiddling before I had them mast properly aligned and even then I needed them shrouds and stays for final adjustments.
Plus I installed these mast feet as accurately as I could...

Good morning Jack. Ha, I use anything that works. In truth I should go out and buy a variety of different clamps - would be easier I think ROTF .
Cheers Grant
Hello
Your solution seems to be working for you though especially with the large number of frames that require this. I think using actual clamps is going to be expensive. Well at least here in Canada.

Thanks Alex. I hope I am fairly close to exact. Much effort was put into the measurements of the clamps and positioning of the mast and beams so hopefully it all will work out. I have not finished all the beams yet and there are 3 gaps (beam 4 to 6 , 17-19 and 22-24) so I can slide my phone in for the photos. :D
Gorgeous result, it's just a pleasure to look at your construction!
Thank you Sergey.

Good evening Gentlemen. I must stand up and shout accolades for Tom and CAF models @CAFmodel . The after purchase service and response from Tom is something I would love my staff to aspire to. I received the missing parts today, a few days after I emailed CAF at no cost . Thank you Tom.

Just a note. The deck beam 4 and 19 do not fit the drawing.

For future builders, just know you will have to adjust the notches to keep the symmetry of the carlings. I have noticed this on most of the build log of this Caf model. A very easy fix if you know about it.
Cheers Grant

Good afternoon all. Just a small update on the stern timbers. I fixed the broken counters and fitted the side counters Tom sent me. Took a long time to get these ready, plenty of sanding and cleaning up required.
IMG_5476.jpeg
Close up of the fitting. The joins came together pretty good although I did miss the measurement of the deck clamp by 0.5mm. Still looks good tho.
