Hi Grant, just playing a little catch-up here. I really like the look of your Birch wood planks; your progress is amazing considering the physical obstacles you have overcome. Your ship is spectacular to date!

Thank you very much Daniel. I have been very blessed with the recovery of my knee replacement. It is going very well and it has given me some time with my ship recently. Cheers GrantHi Grant, just playing a little catch-up here. I really like the look of your Birch wood planks; your progress is amazing considering the physical obstacles you have overcome. Wow! Truly awsome. I like this CAF model!Good evening. Whew I’m still on the rudder, tiller system.
The kit provides for a limited tiller/steering system which is then covered over by the cabin floors.
I’m not a modeller who makes things I don’t see….so I am planning some open cabin floors to see at least some of the tiller/steering system.
Tiller, gooseneck, iron hoops and tension blocks (some Grant extras added) - the kit cleats and blocks are horrid however I’m using the cleats here.

And finally busy the pintles and gudgeons.
All pretty much unfinished WIP…….

I agree with Paul ………..Looking excellent! Good idea to leave a window to see this interesting part...
Good morning Paul. It was very cool that the kit included this. I did have to add some extras however it is a credit to CAF for the detail. I hope I can achieve some look through to this as I go. Cheers GrantLooking excellent! Good idea to leave a window to see this interesting part...
Good morning Peter. I will definitely try and get some of this detail showing. It is still away off the masterful details you include in your models but nice nonetheless. Cheers GrantA good looking tiller/steering system that is worth to be seen, Grant.
I agree with Paul ………..
Regards, Peter
Good morning. Thank you kindly for this compliment. I appreciate it. Cheers GrantAwesome work. I enjoying watching. Hoping that one day that I can do the same kind of work.
Good morning Allan. I agree - it is a credit to CAF for including some extra details. A fair amount of the metal work I added. I did not achieve 100% accuracy but what I hope will be visible is pretty good. Yep the pintles and gudgeons are really nice. They are pretty difficult (well for me) to implement as I want the whole system up to wheel to work. I am also thinking how to have the look through so some of it is visible- loads of funThe detailing on the steering is really great to see. I know it is a little thing, but I am just as impressed with the size of the pintles and gudgeons. It is nice to see these compared to the oversized straps often provided.

Good afternoon Roger. I am also interested to see what I can come up withMorning Grant. Ambitious but you are a really good modeller so no doubt in your hands very achievable. It will be interesting to see what you come up with.
Good afternoon Daniel.Thank you very much. I always appreciate your encouragement with my builds over the years . Cheers GrantExcellent detail Grant. A scaled working rudder system is a great idea.
