HMS Enterprise 1775 1/96 - First build log

Richard, if you ever get to Bristol, there is a model in the museum there of HMS Medea, an Enterprise class 28. I haven't seen it myself but have photographs and a book about the builder (of the ship and the model). I can send more details if you want.
I noted a picture in your Medea log regarding one of your father's tools that you hadn't identified.

It is piano technician's voicing tool. We use them with various numbers and grades of needles/pins to alter the density of the felt on the hammers when adjusting volume and tone. Looking at your example and the thick needles, I'd say it was for heavy use, so probably used at a piano factory when the action is first installed and the hammers may require more aggressive needling.

Wow, I had no idea! Certainly my father had nothing to do with pianos but he could have obtained it anywhere.
Thanks for letting me know.

Thanks a lot! It´s a great and simple Idea! Is this tool for marking the planks selfmade by you?
