Hms Ontario 1780 by Marisstella build log

First deck call the Canon deck at first try it fit with little sanding
,there are 2 suggestions in the book. One just install as is , or plank it with supplies part with will look better ,but will be hidden by the top deck ,dilemma ,I install one side of the contour and had minor adjustments, right side glued the part end to end and it 3mm to long,

i will plank the lower deck to get more experience when i do the top one, as it tell you in the book the wood strip are not all the same size the vary so each one has to be sanded to 5mm jig time is coming up

some are not even 5mm. will sort and one the low one and use them on the hull most have to be tapered . would like to know on what saw it was cut

Interesting sequence, that you make the lids before and adjust the outer planking aftwards
I am looking forward to see the final result

One plank a day for most of the summer.
thinking of black instead of red ,Same as on the book cover .

Wood supply in the kit needs lost of soaking grain is not always ok lot of fittings. And drying on the model , one plank take 3 or four days before thinking of glue. And at 85 my eyes are not what they used to be.
