HMS Surprise from scratch - scale 1:48 by HMS Fly

As Allan mentioned earlier the top of the upper futtocks/top timbers are to large.
Currently, the top of the Bulkheads are at least 6 mm thick. If I add the strips to that (inside and outside), the total width would be at least 9 mm.

According to the scale, the railing may be a maximum of 5 mm wide, including the inner and outer strips. Therefore, I have decided that the tops of the Bulkheads will be sawn off. In their place, I will make a side piece out of 1.5 mm thick plywood. Combined with two strips of 1.5 mm each, this gives 5 mm.

The photos might not do justice to it, but I have just completed a hell of a job.

After all, I had already neatly finished the inner Gundeck planking with pearwood. But I realized that I had forgotten to remove the bulges to support the beams of the Quarter and Foredeck.
So saw everything off and re-planking...
And that is not to mention providing the openings to accommodate the deck beams...
Because, as mentioned earlier, I will be creating an open structure with a view of the Gundeck...

And in the meantime, I am working on the beams... where it was a challenge to provide the curvature of the beams..

Looking good Marc! Are the beams on the forecastle and quarter deck the ones to be on the final model? The reason I ask is that they look flat with little round up. If you look at the scantlings for a 32 gun in the The Shipbuilder's Repository 1788 and Steel's The Elements and Practice of Naval Architecture it was substantial. The closest in the Establishments are for scantlings for a 30 gun and these are also shown below. I don't know how much rounding the Marquardt drawings show, that is, did he use scantlings from any of these. Then again, Surprise 1794 was French ship taken by the British, so the round up may have been different.
