Excellent work, 31/2 years of dedication, it shows well in your photograghs, thanks for sharing, cheers richard.

Kit, scratch, how long it took you, anything special about the model... That kind of thing
This particular model is manufactured by Victory Models series of high quality kits you have a choice of making one of three ships HMS Vanguard (or HMS Bellerophon or HMS Elephant this is a semi scratch build kit very detailed and excellent full scale plans. The model itself took me roughly. 3 1/2 years to complete bear in mind I was only doing around 2 to 3 hours in the evenings after work not every day.
the kit overall is very good. Although some parts I felt let the kit down one would be the gun carriages which were cast metal made it almost impossible to attach the bolts and eyes on them many snapped drill bits.
The materials were walnut overall apart from the first layer of hull planking which was limewood and the deck Wood was something other than walnut. I cannot remember which it was
The scale is1/72nd
  • Length: 1171mm
  • Width: 486mm
  • Height: 895mm.
  • She is big
  • Overall, I’m very happy with the outcome and it has pride of place in my collection

Excellent! BUT I feel the stand is inferior to the model, might I suggest constructing a more fitting one?
