Got a bit of a problem you guys might be able to help with , I have to taper the masts the only problem is my mini lathe wont take the length needed.
Any help from people who have done masts before would be gratefully accepted :)

Hi Bri
What I did in the past is use a drill, insert the mast into the mandrel, and use sand paper (using a glove since it comes quite hot ), verifying the taper along the mast.

I love seeing the Union Jack flying by your window. I’m a new member and my jaw drops every time I visit the website.
Your model is stunning. Tim, Toronto, Canada

I hope you don't mind but this may be interesting to you for the future. Keep in mind the wales and thick stuff above and below the wales were reduced in thickness to the same thickness as the other planking so they fit into the rabbet the same way. Also, I am pretty sure the lower cheek sat on top of the black strake or at the top of the main wale. It looks like the main wale is too broad at the stem so the cheek cannot sit on it properly.
