The brass moulding is a pig to cut/fit why they didn't do wood mouldings must be less expensive!
You bring up a great point. Some kits now supply cutters to make wooden moldings and they can be made in minutes. It is actually quite easy and far cheaper to make your own cutters. If you have not seen it you may like the Tricks of the Trade topic https://shipsofscale.com/sosforums/threads/tricks-of-the-trade.15492/ post #10. Using stock that has the thickness and breadth that you want, it is a few minutes of dragging the stick under the cutter or the cutter over the stick. I find it easier to pull the stick with one hand while holding the blade tightly enough on the stick to get each shallow cut. Several light passes on soft wood or up to 10 light passes on hard woods usually does the trick and takes a few minutes to produce meters of material.
Some examples using these cutters can be seen below

Good morning. It is so cool to see the deadeye pattern and sizes correct on the channels- spot on.
I love that first photo- looks very cool.
Cheers Grant

Finished the channels both sides, now on to the chainplates which on this kit are individually numbered as there all slightly different lengths. Also the instructions suggest you paint them on the fret after you etch them.
