Thanks for posting Kurt,this is awesome.

I get the hull and sails but was lost at the thought of all the ropes being carved from Oako_OOak has a very coarse grain nowadays but can only think it may have been a little different back then.The wood has aged 200 years but I can help but wonder how many years old the tree was when it was felled?

I am astounded that Ian, who made this incredible carved ship, thought that ship modelers would disapprove of HMS Victory being rendered in this fashion, as a carving and not a detailed model. Quite the opposite. Modelers celebrate the novelty of making a carving like this and recognize the specialness of making it from the very timber of the Victory itself. Absolutely splendid !
