Even though I have mast and spar dimensions from several sources, I would appreciate input regarding HMS Victory's lower masts & decks circa 1805. To wit: Heights of the lower masts' caps above poop, quarter, and foc'sl decks. Heights of those decks at the partners (or abeam the partners) above the known or assumed fully loaded, ready for sea, water-line. I assume the masts were raked, so the working heights over the decks would be a bit less than if the masts were vertical to the decks, with the raking more art than science, so it would be interesting to know what several HMS Victory model builders have settled on or are thinking about. Thanks. WmRussell, PDX OR USA

Good question that may be put up in a forum for HMS Victory builds. Just a thought as I have not done that. . . a longer tack may be to scan through the What's New forum as well as the Forums. PT-2 (Rich)

PT-2 McKay's book of Victory's anatomy is probably a good source, but expensive, ranging from mid $30s paper up to $500 pristine. I'll have to figure out where a specific HMS Victory forum is on the web site. Hopefully someone will reach back. wmRussell

Try going into the Search button above right end to type it in and scroll through what comes up. Just an idea. PT-2 (Rich)
