HMS Victory my first build

Talk about jumping in at the deep end ROTF. The build so far looks great, particularly if this is your first build.
 
Hi Johan. I don’t know how I missed this log of yours. It is rather embarrassing. Sorry my friend. I have seen some pics of your build via WhatsApp but is is really cool to have you post on SOS. Your rigging is looking great - the ratlines make a difference.

Thank you Grant for your encouraging words. I must say the visit and seeing your Victory was informative and encouraging.
 
A question of interest. What is the correct direction of flags when a ship is under sail. My logic tells me that the wind will be blowing from aft and the ship under sail will be moving slower than the windspeed....hence the flags should point to the bow???? Guidance please. This would be different for a ship at anchor with bow pointing into the wind.
 
There are hundreds of contemporary drawings and paintings on the RMG Collections site with the wind coming from different directions that show the direction of the flags that should be of some help.
