Hi SOS mates,
I recently visited the HMS Victory in Portsmouth. It is under a massive portable tent, the project itself is as impressive as the ship itself. I was in awe of the ship itself, even though there is so much covered up. I knew it was under reconstruction, I just was so impressed with the work being done and how they were doing it, like they are stripping off all the planking, to only discover most of the framing is also rotten. The work they are putting into this is just off the planet. I think like 40mil pounds has been dedicated, it's just huge, I spoke with one of the engineers, I've come away with wanting to be there when all the work is done. So, everyone constructing a model at the moment and would like to see the original, wait another 10 odd years. They are basically replacing the framing and planking and rebuilding masts etc, so how much will be original? Doesn't matter , she is truly a beauty. Cheers Hope you enjoy the pics.
