Ahoy Mates...

Hello... been busy doing other things (House :(). Asking the experts here since this is my first attempt to complete Occre's HMS Endeavor. Are the blocks-which have a tiny drilled hole to be enlarged a bit as it's impossible to draw a thread through it!?

#1 shows Occre's guided tiny holes... #2 hole drilled a bit larger ( thread goes through leisurely with having the thread end coated a bit with Ca.). There's room to drill the single hole block but not enough room to drill 2 holes for the double blocks holes. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Ahoy...

Hello all Modellers...

As a novice, I am hugely embarrassed for not having posted the build of my HMS Endeavor. I am 3/4 finished building her. Now I am entering the final stages of the rigging. This is where I think that the Occre instruction booklet seems to be a bit aged, with just basic details that are missing. Is it possible that the construction was for a later model, as I seem to see some YouTube postings where the manual is more detailed compared to mine? Can one reorder the most recent instruction guide directly from the manufacturer? Haven't heard from Occre for a while. Thank you...

Hi Schiffs. If you want to go the full deal regarding rigging I would recommend this book. "The anatomy of the the ship Captain Cooks Endevour" I used it several years ago on the same model you're working on. Just to give you an idea of detail I included a few pics from the book as well as a shot of a section of the model I completed a number of years ago. Ignore the dust.
Cheers
Rick

Thank you, Rick Noyes. Just ordered the last book from Amazon. By the way, I have read about 3 books on James Cook, but I never came upon this one by KH Marquardt.

Cheers...

Hi again Schiff. Just for your info, the Endevour is closer to you than you can imagine. This link is to the Australian national maritme museum.
https://cms-web.seamuseum.net/sites...m-locating-hmb-endeavour-2025-june-online.pdf. Its rather an indepth look (pardon the pun) at its final resting place. And no I didn't read the entire 129 pages.

Sydney is also the location of the replica of the Endevour should you ever wish to vist the almost real thing. Bit of a hike though from New Mexico.
