how many times can the same part break during rigging?

im rigging a clipper and it seems im breaking the same stupid part over and over... by accident of course. the rear boom that sticks out past the stern just has a way of catching my shirt sleeve or if i reach behind or under that boom... Click! got dam it i broke it at least 5 times in exactly the same place. i finally got fed up and decided glue isnt doing the job anymore so i drilled the centers of beoken boom and doweled it using a 1/4" long stiff wire and epoxy. its a perfect mend... but lets see how long this will last?

let's hear your stories? im sure this must be a common problem. all it takes is a slip of the tweezies as you tighten a knot and something's gotta give.

.
Hallo @paul ron
we wish you all the BEST and a HAPPY BIRTHDAY

In the battle with the carpet monster, how many of you guys sifted through the contents of a vacuum cleaner bag to recover a couple tiny blocks rather than wait for an order in the mail for new ones from a vendor? Cautious
Ja ja - the bag of the vacuum cleaner -> we are good friends

i have a small battery vacuum n sifted that canister quite a few times. it amazes me how some parts just vanish forever. i have a theory about that.

there is a future you that can time travel. he slaps the part out of your hand or borrows a tool n never puts it back where he found it, messing with the time continuum. sometimes i think he breaks things as well as a joke.

anyway i figure future paul is probably repairing the ship im presently working on. since he is in the future, and possibly too old to make parts at his age, he just gets in the time machine n steals m from me.
