As I am constantly weighing my options between filament and resin to achieve the right amount of strength vs detail, I am very happy with the announced new filament by Polymaker: HT PLA.
If what they claim is true, it will mean that I can print with the ease and finesse of PLA, whilst obtaining a strength well beyond PETG or even PC. And especially for a ship model, that will have a high risk of heating up (windowsill, nice sunny wall or an open air exhibition), this would be a game changer. Should be in stores end of June

Have a look. And no, I don't have shares :D.

I did a first and simple test: the standard thingy with anno rehang and some nibs and knobs. Put it out in the sun … yes, we have in the Netherlands … and waited … and it did not bend or melt. I’ll do another test with a bridge like design, with some weight pulling down.

I had some (ABS-like) resin hulls curing in direct sunlight @ 106 degrees for 6 hours yesterday. All sections were press-fit with no deformation when I put them on my bench at the end of the day. Gotta love the Arizona summer heat!
