Sorry, I prepared this, then the internet got lost and I forgot all about it. So now here we go.
On another note, on this very day in the dim past after WW1, the Belgian navy lost its submarines, all at the same time while moored in harbour. It was organizing an open door event. Nobody got hurt at the moment, but a few died laughing shortly after. The admiral was sick for a few days, but then got a job in government. National risk assesment, that was.
OK, not all true. In fact, someone asked them how much time these subs could stay underwater. They didn't know for sure, so they had to try. The test is still ongoing ...

We really didn't need daylight! But sometimes it was more convenient, especially in the light of latent parental anxiety!
