I'm currently working on my second go round on 1:350 Minicraft Titanic. PO as well as rope lighting, wooden deck and all PE brass parts. A distant cousin perished in the sinking.

Working on the same model. Question for you professionals, I just painted the hull (everything but the sheer line). Do you guys usually varnish now to prevent damage to the paint while assembling the top decks?
Not new to modeling, but new to scale ship building…and wasn’t sure what the usual procedure is. Hull paint is all acrylic mix of Valejo colors. I do have semi-gloss Mr. Hobby varnish I was planning on using. Again more interested in protecting the hI’ll as I work on this build.
