Manufacturer: Falconet (Russia)
Model scale: 1:48
Model name: Imperial steam launch Dagmar, 1870
Model length: 22 cm
The Imperial steam launch Dagmar with a gift transport case. The model is originally from a kit, but all plastic parts have been replaced with brass — including the propeller, piping, and flagpole — and railings have been added. A nameplate was purchased separately and covered with gold leaf. The photograph of the launch has been artificially aged using a craquelure technique; the back of the photo features the coat of arms of the Russian Empire on fabric. The inside of the transport case is lined with velvet to match the era when the launch was in service. The case opens completely to prevent damage to the model during unpacking. The model is not finished with varnish — only teak oil has been applied. The stand has been tinted with bitumen lacquer. The case was originally intended only for transporting the model, but in my opinion, it complements the model quite nicely.
