Hi David here from upstate NY.
I am building the Brig Niagara. It is my second ship. I have already learned a lot from here.
Keep up your good work and if I have anymore questions I know where to look.
Before I found this forum I had contacted the captain of the Niagara and he was kind enough to send me some pictures to help me get started.

Welcome aboard from Connecticut!

David,

From a snapshot passing glance at Niagara I am of the thought that you have two choices:
Model the present replica Niagara
which I seem to remember is copper sheathed - with what looks like roof valley copper.

Model the a best guess representation of the historical Niagara.
which being a fresh water vessel in anything but a tropical climate would have had no reason to have been copper sheathed.

Welcome to SoS. Your contacting the captain was a first for me to hear, and a great idea. Gotta love the research :) :)

Welcome from down in Oklahoma!

Have fun, read around and use the search to see what others have done on the ship your building.

Often others have posted problems and corrections you might find in your kit.
