On the way to Rochefort, I made a stop-over in the city of Kressbronn and visited our member @Ivan Trtanj for some hours.
I met him first time this year in Hamburg during the modelling days in the Hamburg museum....take a look here:

The city of Kressbronn, located at the Bodensee in southern Germany, is giving the art-work of Ivan the appropriate location.
50 years of Ivans work is presented with 16 big size (and scale) models. In the following I will try to show the models in the exhibition with some details of his amazing carving works.
Ivan showed me the details and explained some small stories about the models......the time was too short to see everything, due to the fact, that you easily could spend much more time with each of the models. Many thanks to Ivan for the time you spend with me
Photos can not tell you completely, how beautiful these carvings are -> You should see them in real
If you want to see more of his work, visit his small museum at Museum Schlössle in Kressbronn at the Bodensee in southern Germany

Take also a look on the web-page at the models like the Amphion, Bellona, Pegasus, Royal Caroline, Große Jagt etc. - Great Work

Short form of his Vita
Ivan Trtanj was born in Yugoslavia (Banat) on September 13th, 1945. In the course of the years, model ships of unrivalled quality with high historical evidence were made. Yachts and rowing sloops from different royal dynasties in Europe from 1736 to 1814 have been reconstructed true to nature and, for the most part, as faithful copies according to the original plans. So unprecedented examples of a subtile and personally formed wood-carving have been made.
Romanticism and significance of shipbuilding, connected with the typical stilistic elements of the rococo and the baroque eras join with the masterliness of the technique of wood-carving. Now his historic model ships are open to the public in a permanent exhibition at the „Museum im Schlössle“ at Kressbronn/Lake Constance. At the moment, the exhibition shows 16 historic model ships made by the artist in his fine craftmanship for almost 50 years.
For 2019 Ivan plans to add ship number 17 - the Funerale Gondola
