The Jolly Roger is a fictionalized sailing ship kit issued by Lindberg in 2009. The scale is 1/130 and the completed model is 16 inches long. This kit was “rescued” at a yard sale from someone who had begun its construction very badly. As a result, a considerable amount of time was spent deconstructing mistakes before assembly could begin correctly. The sails are made of cloth and this was the first sailing ship I’ve built where each horizontal ratline is tied individually to each vertical shroud. There are 992 knots - tedious work, but a very satisfying result.
