Kingfisher 1770 1:48 POF

Paul, I don't think I've seen a better outcome as your stove anywhere. Authentically sized, looks like we could fire her up. So many turn out looking like a toy. Nice touch with the dry brush as well! You are mastering your craft!
Hi Bill, you are far too kind with your assessment - but I sincerely appreciate the encouragement!

Just playing catch up Paul, been busy landing myself a new job.

Your stove looks fabulous:cool: I think the final finish looks perfect for a model that will be mainly natural wood.

There are advanced multi layer shadow techniques that can be applied with an airbrush but these would jar IMHO opinion with the rest of the model.

Kind Regards

Nigel

Dear Paul. Read and re-read, look at the pictures; no, scrutinize the pictures, again and again, and then the conclusion. Lost for words.

That hull - I have never seen hawse and stern/transom timbers fit that perfectly. I have never seen the level of cleanliness that you have achieved in this build. I can't even say its "Next level", because I have never seen a level like this. The stove is looking magnificent - of course - but after the paintwork that you did on the VASA, this does not surprise me one iota.

That hull, did I mention that hull ...

Well, this is a very kind post Heinrich. I'm using the nice frames to distract from the fact that I have an issue with the gun ports ROTF.

I pray you will have a wonderful time reconnecting with your family in SA and enjoying your cup of Nescafe with Grant. What I wouldn't give to be at that braai! The only person I have met in person from our forum is Maarten and it was a very special treat.

HUGE ditto. Splendid work, Paul.

I'm taking a little break from the Kingfisher, but I had a free morning so I painted this little guy for fun. I've decided he is the king's shipwright who oversees production of all the king's ships. He's too fancy to be a working shipwright ROTF. Scale is 1:48, the same as the ship.
