This is Lindberg's Jolly Roger of which after looking around, it sort of resembles the Le Flore. I do not have a Build Log. Only pictures. Again, SoS did not exist at the time and I do not even remember if I posted this in Fine Scale Modeler or not.

So, this is actually (as an adult) my first Plastic Build. My very first build was a Cutty Sark when I was probably around 20 yrs old. I think it is in the attic at my parents house. Oh my.

Well, anyway, this shows just really how ignorant I was at building ships. This was the one that the Admiral picked out for me when she got the job at Hobby Lobby. I think I paid like $7 and some few cents. HA ! a far cry from the latest San Felipe at $690

So here she goes !!! They are not in any order. It doesn't get anymore raw bone than this !!

Nice looking model but clearly plastic from old time days. I stared building plastic models ships when I was ten years old and got my first wood model when i was 23. I have came a long way since them and show has plastic and wooden kits. So has the paints that we use. Plastic seem better made and the molds have more detail. This gets ride of the cheap and plastic look. Also, today's paints seem to hide the plastic look a lot better.
 
Yep, it is obvious and it shows my lack of experience and knowledge back then. I just posted this just for fun I guess. Hope no one takes this post too serious as it wasn't meant to be :D .

Thanks for posting this build of yours. She looks clean and nice work with the rigging. I'm thinking of building this kit for my 3 year old grandson seeing how he's into Johnny Depp and pirates. But then again, I am also! Cheers!!!
 
Thank you Fright. As it goes, this was my first ship (as a grown adult), and I knew nothing - it was built 14 years ago. My wife when we got married, started working at a local Hobby Lobby and I told her how I used to do this as a kid. So, she told me to pick one out and I bought it. I am still learning. My very first plastic was a cutty sark actually and I think I did that when I was around 20 or 21. Then the second one was the lindbergs Captain Kidd (of which the model looks just like the Wappen Von Hamburg). I think I did a little better on that one. I think I have it listed in this plastic section too. It can be found here:

Hello Donnie

I can see that you put a lot of effort into your plastic ship. You have done a much better job of building your ship than I could ever get my plastic ships to look, WELL DONE.

Reminds me of when we were first married over 50 years ago, well I built the Cutty Shark in plastic. We were living in Toronto at the time and a very busy street and in a few months the model got very dusty, my Admiral did not like that at all and well she gave it away, I did try one more plastic after that but could never get them to look like I wanted ENJOY.

Donnie - great work on the rigging. I bought this kit and mine was badly warped on the bow of hull. I had to cut part of it away :( My instruction were totally illegible on the rigging diagram. My compliments on your build!!!
 
Donnie,

I have the old, original Lindberg kit of La Flore and the so-called "Jolly Roger". They are identical kits. Anyway, you did a terrific job, especially with the rigging.

Thank you Jim J. Really not too much to brag about here. This was first ship model in a very very long time. I think my first ship model was a plastic cutty sark that I did back around 1978.
