Litte Ships under the Big Sky

I would like to present a few of my models in the open air below. They stand in "water beds", which I hold against the sky and photograph with my smartphone. Of course, the technology an the results still need to be improved, for example by Photoshop.

I like the ominous atmosphere in this picture. For the simple means you use, this is a remarkable effort and I am most curious to see what else you have made so far. Of course I have seen your small boats and the pictures you took from them were not bad either. But I am glad that the idea of using ship models as a prop to gain an image that arouses ones phantasy has taken root.

I apologize for the delay in replying. The water is made of Styrodur. The surface of the waves is covered with a quick-drying filler, the wave crests are modeled by hand. After a coat of paint, several layers of clear varnish form the finish.
The picture below shows the same model in a different, slightly larger waterbed. To take good photos without the use of Photoshop, the waterbed still needs extensions in width and depth.

Two photos, similar to the ones shown above, but in front of a much more dramatic sky. A friend of mine was kind enough to spend several hours with me in the garden until the sky was right. Then he held the waterbed in front of the setting sun.
