Dear fellow modellers, I am looking for a decent bench top, mini planer, like Proxxon surface planer AH 80, which is not available in 120V.
I am also considering building one if I have to, but I am not quite eager for it..
Not sure if there is any other useful alternatives and welcome all suggestions.

Also, if I have to go with Proxxon which runs on 240V, can anyone suggest useful step-down voltage transformer.

Thanks in advance.

I have a full size and vintage 8" jointer but I picked up one of these small Craftsman bench jointers a few years ago for small jobs. Bought it at Lowe's. It obviously doesn't have the mass of a cast iron machine but for relatively light work, it does a pretty good job! I'm pretty sure other manufacturers also have the same machine, re-badged.
