Looking for mesh for deck railings

I am thinking of building a boat that will have a screen mesh along its deck railings. I have lots of standard screen mesh that has square openings, but I am looking for mesh that forms a diamond-shaped pattern (see photo). I am planning to make the model about 1:32 scale, or so. Dose anyone have an idea of where I can source such a mesh? Thanks, Carl

Carl, this is my Bluebird of Chelsea model in its early stages of construction. The rail stanchions and horizontals are made of brass, and the webbing is a rubberized material over the top of a cloth mesh. The original material was dark brown in colour, but was easily painted white with a spray can.The webbing was then cut to required size and sewn on to the brass frame. The diamond shape stood on end and was cut to whatever shape was required as can be seen in the openings around the mast turnbuckles. I purchased this material at a fabric store, and have no idea what it was intended for, but it is a perfect medium for model ship building.

Look on Amazon or check out Michaels. Mesh like this is used for needlepoint. You can get different sizes.

did you try Fabricville? That is where I got mine

I notice that Fabricland has this type of material. (Thanks YT, I was able to see this on their website). They also have black mesh in similar style that's used for hair netting.

I am not familiar with fabricland. Here it is called Fabricville.

Thanks Carl, this is as close as I can get for a clear shot. As mentioned above by Rob444 I had originally tried the plastic material used for needlepoint work but found it was filled with scabs from manufacturing which really showed up when painted and could not be easily cleaned out.

Uh.....if you take a square screen and rotate it 45°, it becomes a diamond....
