I am in Kent, WA and would like to know if there is anyone or does anyone know if there is a group here in Washington State that could be near me?
I used to belong to a small group on Whidbey Island years ago before I had been forced to move out of state. Now I am back and would love to meet ship modelers if any are out here.

Cheers Folks!

Hi Damon!

I am across the water in Silverdale. Brand new to the wood ship scene…in fact, my first kit is due to arrive on Friday.

I have not come across a local group or club yet…but definitely interested in accelerating my learning from those that have the same interest!

I'm in Ellensburg, working on a PT-109 model. I'm at the stage of painting, final details and plugging in the electronics. I'm actually trying to find the plans or blueprints for the full size PT-103 class of torpedo boats to make a 1:6 scale version. Which would be about 14 foot long

Welcome aboard. I am really new to Wooden Ship building myself. Have started with the Combo Kits from Shipways. Not really thrilled with them as they assume some knowledge I lack. But I am attacking with gusto and will conquer these kits. This forum is really good for help from others.

I am not sure where to find such plans, but I would suggest asking in the General Topics Forum. Someone there might be able to help.

Hello Damon H, Steve Levesseur here, I also live in KENT, WA. I have been building wooden model ships for about 17 years .

Hello Washington ST. builders,
Randy Erickson (AKA Ragnar) I live in West Seattle and meeting some builders from the area sounds like a idea I could get interested in. Does anyone have the time to propose a central location and date to make this happen?

I am still fairly new to WA so I will allow others to make this determination. Though I do have a proposition. We could always meet via WhereBy.com.
It's a free service online like Zoom. I use this with a painting group I belong to and it works well.

We could do something similar for l ship modelers. I can open a room and we can jump in when time allows and have a set day to meet like a Friday night or Saturday (which would be better for most I think). This would save time in driving and cost of driving somewhere and any other associated costs. Additionally we could all still do a central meeting once a month if so desired.

Just thinking outside the box here.

Allright, I'll give this a go again. I tried once before but kinda hesitated, but we'll go all in this time. I called it Puget Sound Model Shipbuilders because I like the association with the sound, but anyone is welcome. Here's the discord invite.
